Why We Give?
We believe we are blessed to be a blessing and when we give to the local church, God uses us to help bring about life change in others. We were a church founded on generosity and we give generously because of what He has already done and what He still wants to use us to do.
“Since you excel in so many ways – in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusiasm, and your love from us – I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving.“ – 2 Corinthians 8:7
What is a Tithe?
The word tithe literally means tenth. When it comes to our giving, a tithe is when we give 10% of our total income to the local church. Tithing is meant to be sacrificial and it’s a way of trusting God to do more with our less. Click Here for a message on Giving from Pastor Sean
“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.“ – Malachi 3:10
What is an Offering?
Biblically, an offering is any financial gift over and above the tithe. God often presents us with opportunities to give more generously than we already have and it is in these times we get to step out so we can watch Him step in.
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.“ – 2 Corinthians 9:7-8
